October is National Chiropractic Month, celebrating care that helps people improve their musculoskeletal health and relieve back pain naturally while helping them to avoid or reduce the need for riskier pain treatments.
According to the American Chiropractic Association, the word ‘chiropractic’ was chosen by the developer of chiropractic medicine, Daniel David Palmer. He performed the first-ever chiropractic adjustment in September 1895. Two years later, he established the Palmer School of Cure, now known as the Palmer College of Chiropractic.
Today, the ACA says there are more than 70,000 active chiropractic licenses in the United States. We have 15 years of experience at our practice, led by Dr. Sidney Inkelis and Dr. John Calabria.
You’ve probably heard of national days, of which there are many. But national months are used to celebrate, educate, and raise awareness for a multitude of groups, organizations, and professions.
The ACA and its members use every October to focus on helping chiropractic patients live more fully and actively. The campaign aims to provide information on muscle and joint health, better posture, preventing lower back pain, and improving balance.
